The Scientific Administrator will assist in organising and managing the External Quality Assessment (EQA) schemes, and other activities of ERNDIM. The main duties of the post holder will be to provide administrative, communication and finance support for the ERNDIM network, including supporting accreditation of ERNDIM to ISO 17043, harmonising the organisation of the EQA schemes and liaising with external providers of subcontracted services. Additionally, the post holder will plan and manage training events on behalf of ERNDIM and also SSIEM (The Society for the Study of Inborn Errors of Metabolism) a partner organisation of ERNDIM. About us ERNDIM is an internationally-respected provider of External Quality Assessment (EQA) services for inherited metabolic diseases, with over 400 participating laboratories in 62 countries. EQA is an essential requirement for any laboratory seeking to provide a quality service and is a vital component of clinical governance. Our Administration team are hosted by the Manchester Centre for Genomic Medicine (MCGM), within Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), and EMQN CIC (European Molecular Genetics Quality Network) an accredited provider of Molecular Genetics EQA schemes. We are located within the well-equipped facilities of the EQA office on Manchester Science Park and provide administrative support for the ERNDIM network which monitors laboratory performance world-wide in centres offering diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of inherited metabolic diseases. Right now, we're seeking an appropriately qualified, self-motivated and enthusiastic scientist with biomedical and administrative experience to join the team, on a fixed term contract, as a Scientific Administrator. Flexibility, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work to tight deadlines are essential attributes.
