Clinically you will work on to the dementia assessment unit at the Carleton Clinic and be part of the ward leadership team. You will also provide high quality evidence based psychological assessment, formulation, and interventions to service users. You will also be responsible for providing advice, consultation, and training to colleagues on psychological aspects of assessment, formulation, care, and treatment.There will be the opportunity for mentorship and training if the successful candidate wished to undertake the Approved Clinician training.You will also be part of the wider Older People's Psychological Service in North Cumbria which consists of Clinical Psychologists, a CBT Therapist and Assistant Psychologists. You will have access to regular supervision and CPD.Although this is a consultant grade post candidates with the relevant 8B experience are able to apply as we will consider this post as a preceptorship/run through opportunity. The post-holder is responsible for developing and providing a qualified specialist psychological service for a designated group of clients within a specific pathway and in a designated locality, and is responsible for professional governance and assurance for that service. This service will provide specialist psychological assessment and therapy, clinical supervision, advice and consultation to colleagues, and to other non-professional carers, on psychological aspects of assessment, formulation, care and treatment.The post holder will ensure that the psychological services resources for which they are responsible are integrated into the pathway, and that high quality individualised care is delivered, which ensures safety and a commitment to promoting recovery and wellbeing and maximising independence.The post-holder will be responsible for the professional management of any psychological services staff within their remit, including professional registration, professional supervision, provision of training placements, identification of appropriate CPD, other training and research & development activities.The post-holder will lead on recruitment, appraisals and job planning for psychological services staff within their remit and will be appropriately involved in disciplinary and grievance processes.The post-holder will provide specialist clinical supervision and specialist clinical consultation / advice in accordance with service needs.
