To be an active member of the multidisciplinary team demonstrating a range of nursing skills to meet the needs of the patient in a safe, caring environment that promotes dignity, privacy and respect under appropriate supervision of assistant nursing practitioner or registered nurse. The post holder will be expected to develop knowledge and skills within the speciality and will assist in the management and delivery of compassionate, high quality patient care. The post holder will prioritise and complete their own workload ensuring safety for patients and delegate tasks accordingly. The post holder will support and supervise nursing assistants and support the training of student nurses and volunteers. The post holder will demonstrates the Trust Values and Behaviours and the Trust Code of Conduct for nursing and midwifery 6C's at all times acting in the best interests of patients and treating everyone with dignity and respect. Support and help drive the quality improvement agenda and support change within the work area. The post holder has a duty of care to patients and is expected to comply fully with all Trust policies in particular policies relating to personal and patient safety and the prevention of healthcare associated infections. As a Trust employee you will honour your work commitments, be reliable, trustworthy and uphold values and beliefs of the Trust. Following achievement of any required competence and within the parameters of the role: May undertake any or all of the following clinical or therapeutic activities appropriate to practice environment: taking blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, oxygen saturation, level of alertness and Completion of pre assessment and admission documentation blood glucose observing patients for signs of agitation or distress wound observations, simple wound dressings venepuncture removal of peripheral cannula weight and height Responsible for ensuring all equipment required are prepared, cleaned, serviced and safe.
