Breast Care Nurse in Breast Screening - Training Post Band 6 SW London Breast Screening Service Would you like to develop a career in breast cancer nursing? If you are currently working as an experienced staff nurse with patients who have cancer we have a unique opportunity to join an established team of experienced Breast Care CNSs. You will receive tailored training and mentoring to enable you to pursue a career as a CNS in Breast Care. You must be willing to undertake specialist courses at post graduate level. You should be self motivated, eager to learn and keen to develop the skills to work autonomously and as part of a specialist multidisciplinary team. The SW London Breast Screening Service is part of the National NHS Breast Screening Programme. It is based at St Georges University Hospitals NHS Trust in Tooting and serves a population of 190,000 women across SW London. The CNS team provide individualised care, information and support for women who have or fear they have breast cancer. The team also provide health promotion and education to women aged 50 -70, primary care professionals and the general public about breast cancer and breast health. Ideally you would be willing to work full time however part time hours would be considered for the right candidate. To provide a continuing supportive service within the unit and facilitate optimum health care for those who have, or fear they may have breast cancer. After a period of training and supervision the post holder will be responsible for the delivery of supportive care to women recalled from screening. Both in person in clinic, during the delivery of diagnostic tests and results and also offering further support by telephone. The post holder will work alongside members of the multidisciplinary screening team. "}
