Our booking staff are the first point of contact for patients needing maternity ultrasound appointments. They help to ensure the patients' experience is what we would expect for our own family and friends. The role will provide administrative support to the Ultra Sonographers, Consultant Obstetricians and Midwives, working in collaboration to ensure all patients under their care receive an empathetic and professional service. Duties include diary administration, booking ultrasound appointments, correspondence support and other administrative duties as required. Open and prioritise incoming post, ensure supporting information is available when appropriate and taking responsibility for actioning urgent items, escalating appropriately. Support patients by booking relevant ultrasound investigations in line with maternity pathways. Monitor urgent investigation requests to ensure they are processed appropriately. Work closely with all staff in the service to ensure compliance with referral to treatment (RTT) targets, escalating and intervening where necessary to expedite appointments and procedures to avoid breaches. Maintain an accurate, current filing system, ensuring relevant information is recorded updating patient details using hospital computer systems - BadgerNet, Millennium EPR, Radiology CRIS, IOV. Ensure patients that have not attended or cancelled their appointments are highlighted and follow up in a timely manner. Request and coordinate patient notes from other hospitals and organisations, where the pathway requires input from these. Act upon queries from referring consultants, midwives and patients. About us Greet and assist patients and visitors who attend the department. Register patients using hospital computerised systems, BadgerNet, CRIS and EPR. Provide an accurate ultrasound appointment service using EPR and CRIS. Maintain accurate electronic filing system to include letters, reports and diagnostic test results. Monitor and action patients that fail to attend their appointments in line with the pathway and departmental policy. Action queries received from patients and different staff groups in person, received on the telephone and by email. Identify when to escalate concerns to relevant lead/manager. Attend department meetings and training as required to maintain an up-to- date knowledge of the service, patient pathways and policies and procedures. Work in collaboration with the clinical and administration teams, providing a high quality service, maintaining effective professional working relationships with all staff groups.
