If so, we have an exciting opportunity within the radiology department at Birmingham Children's hospitals, for a Band 8a Paediatric Clinical Specialist Sonographer to support the in-patient ultrasound service. The role is for an independent, highly specialised, autonomous reporting clinical specialist paediatric sonographer. Consideration will be given to suitably qualified sonographers who require additional training in paediatrics, including clinically complex and specialised examinations. To work as an independent, highly specialised, autonomous reporting clinical specialist sonographer performing a range of highly complex paediatric ultrasound examinations to an exceptional standard, and produce high quality, independent reports ensuring compliance with imaging protocols and contribute to the management of the patient. (This complexity of ultrasound imaging and interpretation is performed by a consultant radiologist at other local and paediatric hospitals and was previously undertaken by consultant radiologists at Birmingham Children's Hospital e.g., liver transplantation, oncology and ED ultrasound).
