Through sharing wisdom from their own experiences, Peer Support Workers will inspire hope and belief in recovery and supporting others to gain a sense of control over their lives. As a highly valued member of the multi-disciplinary team, the Peer Support Worker will provide peer support and practice assistance to service users in order for them to regain control over their lives and build connections with their local communities. Based with the Perinatal Team the Peer Support Worker will work across the Perinatal and Maternal Mental Health Service pathway, and third sector partner agencies, supporting service users transition between services. The Peer Support Worker will act as a recovery advocate across mental health service pathways and act as ambassador of recovery for the trust with external agencies and partner organisations. The Peer Support Worker will be expected to be involved in the on-going development of the role. The Peer Support Worker will work alongside a number of service users on a 1:1 and group basis, reporting to the Team Manager and under the professional supervision of the Peer Support Facilitator. 22.5 hours per week. An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Perinatal Mental Health Team as a Perinatal Partner Peer Support Worker. The new role is working within a friendly and diverse multidisciplinary team. You will be dynamic, enthusiastic, and willing to share our vision to deliver excellent patient care. We are looking for someone with great communication skills, highly motivated, innovative and forward thinking to be able to deliver mental health support to our service users and their wider support system. This role is very flexible around the needs of the service, and we would be open to considering job shares for the right candidates. This role may not be eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route, please refer to the Direct Gov website for more information with regards to eligibility.
