Are you a highly motivated, dynamic and flexible Registered Children's Nurse ready to join our Paediatric Emergency Department? We have an exciting opportunity for a Sister/ Charge Nurse on a 6 month fixed contract within the Children's Emergency Department. We are a progressive and dynamic team looking to expand our staff numbers. You will have significant experience in an acute paediatric nursing or A&E setting. Ideally you will have completed an emergency care qualification, EPALS and will be able to provide evidence of professional development, shift management, and staff development. We can provide a proactive learning environment as well as many supportive in service learning opportunities. The emergency care qualification course will be available for the right candidates. The department is led by a Matron and supported by a Practice Development Nurses devoted to the development of the nursing team. You will join a dedicated team of experienced and motivated paediatric nurses, PEM consultant and a Paediatric Consultants available at peak times. Our Emergency Department offers an educationally focused environment that allows nurses to professionally grow and develop a vast repertoire of clinical skills and theoretical knowledge. To ensure this we have strong links with local Universities and regional specialist centres who are committed to delivering work-based educational initiatives. Training for this role will include triage, minor injuries, paediatric intermediate life support, red dot x-ray interpretation and ordering of x-rays, trauma, mental health study day, Paediatric ED course, patient group directives, we provide monthly simulation insitu or based in our dedicated simulation centre, bit size weekly teaching and monthly well-being and mindful sessions.
