We have an exciting opportunity to join the Therapy team at Heatherwood Hospital as a static Band 5 Occupational Therapist. Heatherwood Hospital is a GIRFT accredited elective hub, responsible for the management of elective surgery for Frimley Health patients. The Therapy Team at Heatherwood work within pre-assessment, day surgery NHS and private inpatient units. The team consists of 18 Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Orthopaedic Technicians and Therapy Assistants working flexibly across an extended seven-day service. The successful post-holder will be responsible for the assessment and treatment of a wide range of Orthopaedic patients throughout their elective pathway. The post holder will work within the elective therapy team at Heatherwood Hospital and will work alongside a team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Orthopaedic technicians, and therapy assistants. They will provide a high standard of occupational therapy to patients throughout the elective pathway. They will demonstrate excellent communication and collaborative working to provide a high quality and efficient service. Clinical supervision, appraisal and teaching of technicians, assistants and students will be a core component of this role. With support from the Principal Therapists and their Team lead, they will participate in training, service development and audit. They will work across Orthopaedic pre-assessment, day surgery, inpatient, and private units and work flexibly across an extended seven-day service which covers 07:00-19:30pm Monday to Saturday and 08:00-1600 on Sunday.
