This role will involve working with and supporting our friendly teams of experienced Midwives. You will contribute to the delivery of safe and high quality intrapartum and postnatal care to women/birthing people and families within a stand alone Birth Centre. We are seeking caring, motivated and enthusiastic individuals with sound communication skills and a compassionate approach to providing woman/birthing people and family-centred care. The successful candidate will have recent, relevant experience of working in a care setting. This role offers the chance to gain and develop a range of invaluable clinical and interpersonal skills and experience, as well as personal and professional development opportunities. Experience of working within a Birth Centre would be advantageous although not essential. Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust delivers maternity care to over 6000 women per year in our Birth centres at Maidstone and Crowborough, at homebirths with our Community Midwives, as well as in the Obstetric Unit at Tunbridge Wells Hospital, Pembury. We offer a bespoke MSW training day in addition to the Trust's mandatory training, as well as specific Breast feeding training to support our BFI level 2 accreditation. About us Once your pre-employment checks have been completed you will be contacted by Recruitment to arrange your start date which will be in line with one of our Corporate Inductions. Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trusts Clinical Induction Programme for Clinical Support Workers (which starts on the first day of employment). The programme is full-time (please contact the CSW Induction Programme Lead if this is going to be problematic:rallen@nhs.net), lasts for two weeks and will involve travelling to both Trust sites. The programme includes 2 supernumerary shifts in the clinical area (an early and a late shift), all of the other days are classroom-based and run from 9am to 5pm. Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at Enhanced Level. (Enhanced level now includes regulated checks against vulnerable adults and children).
