You will work alongside occupational therapy staff to support them with treatment interventions for individuals within the MSU. The post holder needs to be able to work well within the team but also be confident and competent to work autonomously. The post holder will carry out identified individual interventions with patients as agreed with the Occupational Therapist as well as supporting the Occupational Therapist in providing group work interventions. The post holder will also assist with delegated duties to help with the efficient running of the department. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. The post holder will work under the supervision of Occupational Therapists carrying out areas of the Occupational Therapy intervention plan delegated to them. The post holder will carry out and observe outcomes for individual and group interventions which support the ongoing assessment and treatment of service user/patients around their occupational functioning in the areas of self care, productivity and leisure within the department, in the service user/patients home or in community settings. The post holder will provide timely and accurate written and verbal feedback for all interventions for review by the delegating Occupational Therapists to support the delivery and review of the overall Occupational Therapy intervention plan. The post holder will be required to have effective interpersonal and communication skills to support the motivation and engagement of service user/patients and their carers and be able to work effectively as a member of the team.
