Job Purpose: Responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care and the implementation and evaluation of those programmes. Carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision. Teaches and supervises qualified and unqualified staff. Maintains high standards of care within the department. Clinical Responsibilities Practice according to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct. Assess care needs for patients, planning, implementing and evaluating care for individual patients. Ensure nursing care is delivered using an individualised approach. Ensure that all patients receive a high standard of nursing care. Participate in the admission and discharge planning process in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team. Act as a named nurse for patients.
