We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced cancer nurse to join our team as a Gynae-Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist. We are looking for an individual with strong communication skills who has the ability to impart complex information to patients, relatives and carers. You should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the physical and psychological challenges faced by this group of patients. You will be joining an established multi-disciplinary team and will be responsible for offering expert clinical advice and emotional support to patients. The CNS Team works with a team of Consultant Oncologists to provide expert care to patients and their families throughout the cancer journey. The team is supported by the addition of a Clinical Support Worker. The Oncology Clinics take place in the Macmillan Cancer Centre. The team works closely with both the Psychological Support Service and the Macmillan Support and Information Service (MSIS) to develop support services and appropriate health and well being events to engage and empower our patient community. The successful applicant will be an experienced cancer nurse with proven clinical skills and knowledge in the field of cancer.We are looking for an individual with strong communication skills who has the ability to impart complex information to patients, relatives and carers. The CNS is the patient's key worker will manage their own clinical caseload, providing highly specialist nursing input and continuity of care to patients at each stage of the pathway (diagnosis, treatment, surveillance and longer term follow up).
