We have two large teams providing the assessment and supervision and support to all approved foster carers across the whole of the county. The successful candidate will join a county fostering service committed to developing excellent practice in line with the Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards. You will need to be committed to developing excellent outcomes for children through creating productive working relationships with a wide range of services to support our fostering families. Applicants would benefit from an understanding of the whole fostering process, but specifically the requirements to assess Foster Carers. In addition, you should be familiar with the statutory responsibilities throughout their on-going approval. The post could involve a degree of working outside normal office hours for home visits and group work. The role of assessing social worker is the assessment of unrelated and connected foster carers for North Yorkshire. Part of this role is to progress assessments in a timely manner, and presenting to fostering panel and progressing the Skills to foster course.
