You will act as an advocate and chaperone regularly in clinics and will support both patients and consultants with the needs that arise from the clinic you are looking after. You will need to be a well organised and highly motivated individual who strives to ensure both our patients and consultants have great care and management whilst they are attending or holding clinics. Our new state of the art Private Outpatient Department a has 4 spacious consulting rooms and a fully equipped Minor-Ops rooms situated on the third floor of the new Heatherwood Hospital. Our department will be open from Monday to Thursday from 8am to 8pm and on Fridays, 8am to 7.30pm. Assist in the efficient running of outpatient clinics: Receive, transmit, store and receive information relating to the delivery of a Care Service Ensure that department stores/stock supply is maintained Contribute to the health, safety and security of patients and their environment Prepare and undertake clinical activities agreed with the trained nurse Correctly book pre operative appointments for patients About us To open up and prepare the department for the day. To ensure the department is clean, tidy and well presented. To ensure all clinic rooms are set up in accordance with the consultants requirements for their clinics. To book pre operative appointments correctly and efficiently To ensure rooms are adequately stocked and stock is rotated as to minimise waste. You will be required to act as a chaperone for patients for a variety of reasons and ensure their privacy and dignity is upheld at all times. As part of the day to day running of clinics you will be required to perform basic clinical examinations (including but not limited to obtaining baseline observations, venepuncture and urine tests). To ensure that all patients, visitors and staff are treated in a courteous, professional and caring manner and receive prompt assistance when required. To promote patient independence and maintain the individuals dignity at all times. To adhere to hospital policy in relation to patient confidentiality at all times.
