Do you want to maximise your potential and develop in a busy, tertiary centre? We are looking for an experienced, heart-rhythm accredited Cardiac Physiologist to join our expanding arrhythmia team, based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. We are a tertiary, cardiology centre offering a full complement of specialised services including transplantation/VAD service, adult congenital heart disease, inherited cardiac conditions and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy to name a few. As a service we pride ourselves in the development and quality of our staff and training. The post holder will be actively encouraged to develop themselves, undertake further qualifications, as well as, maintaining continuous development through conferences, courses, research, or leadership & management training. With a dedicated training and development manager, we can support you to reach your goals and aspirations. The successful candidate will provide support to the Head of Cardiac Implantable Devices and Head of Invasive Cardiology in the operational management of the service. They will also act as a lead physiologist for cardiac device implantation and follow up along with supporting the education and training of junior staff in the service. We are looking for someone, who is highly motivated and keen to learn and develop. The post holder will be expected to work as an independent practitioner in cardiac device implantation and follow up as well as invasive cardiology. This includes the follow up, implantation and extraction of loop recorders, pacemakers, ICD's and CRT. We routinely work with devices including: SICD, EV-ICD, leadless and conduction system pacing. The candidate must possess good communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful applicant must hold a BSc in Clinical Physiology/Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology), MSc in Cardiac Science or equivalent; demonstrate a commitment to training and able to participate in on-call duties. Post graduate certification in devices and or electcrophysiology (BHRS/EHRA/IBHRE) is required. HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist is desirable. There will be opportunities to multi-skill through the various sub-specialties within Cardiac Physiology and therefore gain valuable experience.
