The role of a patient advocate to support informed choices and empowering women to select treatment options is paramount whilst ensuring that colleagues respect the vulnerabilities of this client group. You will participate in the development of the service by exploring and developing effective care pathways, with evidence-based guidelines and procedures to standardise care delivery. You will also support the on-going review of the effectiveness of the service and standards of care by contributing to audit processes. You will act as a role model to deliver a high standard of care whilst supporting learners within the environment to develop their knowledge and skills. The post holder will rotate between gynaecology outpatients and early pregnancy unit according to the needs of the services. To learn and be competent in a variety of clinics, ranging from PTN, urodynamics, 2WW, hysteroscopy, colposcopy, myosure and general gynaecology clinics. Provide the clinical expertise necessary for the efficient management of gynaecology patients on Emerson Unit and the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit, undertaking a full range of clinical duties relevant to the area of practise. To effectively manage a hyperemesis patient within the Early Pregnancy Unit. Ensure patients are Informed of appropriate and relevant support networks and agencies I.e chaplaincy, miscarriage association, ectopic pregnancy trust and local support groups.
