The chosen candidate will act as a ST1 - ST2 grade doctor under the direction of the Obstetrics & Gynaecology directorate which includes consultants, associate specialists, trust doctors, nursing & midwifery staff. The programme will contain a mixture of antenatal clinics, gynaecology clinics, obstetrics & gynaecology theatres and on-call commitments. Undergraduate experience of Obstetrics & Gynaecology is preferable. The junior staff are directly responsible to the Consultants for whom they work. They are expected to provide support in all aspects of the Obstetrics & Gynaecology service by maintaining continuity of patient care, assisting at operations, Out-patient clinics and in the Labour wards. The chosen candidate will be first on-call for acute admission. The rota will be a 1 in 10 on-call rota. About us The chosen candidate will act as a junior grade doctor under the direction of the Obstetrics & Gynaecology directorate which includes consultants, associate specialists, trust doctors, nursing & midwifery staff. The programme will contain a mixture of antenatal clinics, gynaecology clinics, obstetrics & gynaecology theatres and on-call commitments. Undergraduate experience of obstetrics & gynaecology is preferable. The Obstetric Department has approximately 3918 deliveries per year and comprises a labour ward with 10 delivery rooms and 3 bedded HDU. There is an elective caesarean section list every day and a separate emergency obstetric theatre. There is an Antenatal Day Assessment Unit, a 33 bedded postnatal ward and a 10 bedded antenatal ward. Nuchal Translucency Screening is offered to all mothers before 12th completed week of pregnancy. The Treatment Centre provides capacity for elective gynaecological surgery. There is an Early Assessment Pregnancy Unit, facilities for out-patient diagnostic and therapeutic hysteroscopy, colposcopy and urodynamics. Minimal access surgery is well established.
