Endoscopy Decontamination Technician Department: HSDU Band: 2, £23,615 Per annum, pro rata if part time Hours: Full time, 37.5 per week + On-call commitment , all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working An opportunity has arisen within the Endoscopy Unit for a Decontamination Technician.The Department is operational from 7am - 7pm over a 6 day shift system. Your typical hours will be one week of earlies and one week of lates and the successful applicant will need to be able to work flexible shifts covering these hours. There will also be the occasional 8pm finish when on late shift. In line with Trust policy the department aims to become a 7 day service, it is likely that operational hours will be reviewed to reflect this. Please note that we are not able to offer sponsorship for this role. Interview date: 05 November 2024 The Department runs an on-call service and the technician would be required to participate fully in the out of hours on-call rota (contracted to one week in every four). The role involves efficiently providing the correct handling, cleaning, decontamination maintenance and security of flexible endoscopes and related equipment.No previous experience is required for this role as on ongoing training programme is in operation.Decontamination Technicians are given the opportunity to gain experience in Sterile Services once fully trained. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, organisational and interpersonal skills, as liaison with other disciplines is an integral part of this role.
