This post is not offering the training to gain this qualification. An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen, for a Band 4 Nursing Associate within an established Integrated Learning Disability Team working alongside an MDT which includes Social Workers Nursing, Psychiatry, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and administrative staff. Durham County Council are the lead authority of the Integrated Learning Disability Teams. Candidate's will use the Durham County Council system Azeus as their primary recording system and will still have access to TEWV recording systems and NHS mail. The team work collectively and collaboratively with others to ensure a high standard of care is provided and are always willing to go above and beyond what is expected when required, and to ensure people with a diagnosed learning disability and their families and carer are supported by delivering high quality clinical care utilising the Care Act and TEWV clinical Pathways. The service is currently 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. The post holder will also be part of the Nurse on Call rota that covers out of hours 8pm to 8am. Applicants must have NMC Nursing Associate registration and, preferably have experience of working with people with a diagnosed learning disability. The successful candidate will work with multi-professional practitioners to ensure collaborative working with service users, their families, carers and partner agencies providing a person-centred approach. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be calm, confident and resilient in their approach, and will need to be able to form therapeutic relationships. The successful candidate must also have a flexible approach to their work as they will be expected to take part in the on-call rota and should be able to travel independently to various locations across County Durham.
