The Manchester Royal Infirmary and Wythenshawe site catheter laboratories presently perform over 1250 Electrophysiology procedures per year on aggregate, with an increasing burden of acute and complex work. The post holder will provide extensive support to the catheter lab Electrophysiology programme, and will be expected to work within the team who deliver a wide-ranging suite of procedures, such as AF ablation and ablation for SVT and VT. A strong commitment to Undergraduate and Postgraduate Teaching and a Research interest is desirable. Recruitment to clinical trials occurs through the local research network, and the Trust research and innovation programme is led by Prof Chris Miller. Additionally there are active links with bioengineering, translational and basic science cardiovascular biology programmes in Manchester. The post will predominantly focus on Electrophysiology.
