This proactive team covers many speciality wards including cardiorespiratory, haematology, endocrinology, gastroenterology and care of the elderly. We also cover the respiratory caseload on the Children's ward and provide respiratory care and rehabilitation on the 5 bedded respiratory support unit. We are a friendly physiotherapy team who strive to provide excellent patient care with compassion, dignity and respect. We are seeking applicants with some experience working within the acute setting. You must have up to date knowledge/experience of current developments/drivers within the wider healthcare setting, specifically around respiratory care and discharge planning. The Trust is committed to supporting and developing staff through appraisals and the supervision process. Band 6 staff have individual supervision and peer support as well as access to training. The Trust provides clinical placements for students from Sheffield, Derby and Nottingham and the successful applicant will have experience of supervising under-graduate students. To work with the Lead Senior Physiotherapist in Medicine and Respiratory Care to co-ordinate and monitor an effective and efficient service to meet the needs of the inpatients referred across Medicine and Acute Respiratory care - Adults and Children. To manage autonomously, a complex inpatient caseload requiring Physiotherapy and selective Occupational Therapy assessments on dedicated medical wards. To be responsible for Training, Supervision and Appraisals of more junior staff. To participate in the 7 day service to the medical, surgical and critical care wards and the emergency on-call Respiratory Service. To work with the Head of Physiotherapy and other senior physiotherapy staff to monitor, evaluate and develop existing services in Medicine and Respiratory care in line with the changing needs of the Trust.
