The post is for 1PA per week (4 hours) to be worked flexibly. The Clinical Lead will work closely with the senior team in the DCH and offer support to the clinical advisors to Goldline. The post holder will help to set the strategic direction and development of the service and support the maintenance of standards for quality, safety and performance. The post holder will review data related to the service to share learning via an annual report. The Clinical Lead will be required to demonstrate partnership working and collaboration with stakeholders and other interested parties locally, regionally and nationally. Potential applicants are encouraged to consider whether they have the skills and drive to carry out this exciting and challenging role. The current DCH senior team are keen to discuss the with interested parties and applications from senior medical clinicians are welcome. Act as a role model and as an expert in end of life care, supporting health care professionals principally the staff in the DCH Be responsible to support the provision of a highly specialised end of life care service to patients reviewed by staff in the DCH. Respond to complex clinical queries referred from other healthcare professionals and communicate effectively with GPs to ensure safe and effective care. Ensure a high level of clinical input in the DCH Be a conduit to support and engage with all other services that facilitate end of life care across the localities in which Goldline is delivered Together with the senior management team (SMT), further develop and enhance the Goldline service in the DCH Support the development of training in end-of-life care for staff in the DCH and beyond Support research and development activity within the DCH Identify a vision for the delivery of the Goldline service in the DCH Identify and promote best practice in end of life care The role requires excellent organisational and leadership skills, a patient-centred approach, strong communication and influencing skills, resilience and an ability to engage with staff and service users.
