You will ensure patients are supported within the specialist field and will work closely with the Upper GI and Oncology Consultants and wider team members. We are looking for someone who has substantial surgical / Oncology experience, who is ready for a new challenge. If you are passionate about providing high quality care to our patients and have excellent, sensitive communication skills then we would like to hear from you. You will work across upper GI and will work with both the medical and surgical consultants within this. You will provide both face to face and virtual care and support to the patients within the services through both inpatient and outpatient environments. You will report directly to the Lead CNS in Upper GI. To support the Upper GI patients by maintaining and developing a quality service, alongside the UGI CNS team, navigator and the wider MDT. To support the team with a caseload of patients requiring specialist Upper GI nursing support. To support the team by taking on clinics providing support for patients throughout the pathway. To support patients and staff on the ward to help care for those with a suspected or new diagnosis of an upper GI cancer. Ensure the delivery of agreed professional standards of care within specialist area. To support and participate in research and audit within specialist area.
