About us We have 2 locum consultant paediatric anaesthetist posts (12 months fixed term) available due to maternity leave, retirements and expansion of activity. We are looking for individuals with specialist training and experience in paediatric and neonatal anaesthesia, either in the UK or equivalent training overseas. The successful applicants will not be required to take part in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit consultant cover. The post holders may be required to work on other hospital sites where Birmingham Childrens Hospital has a Service Level Agreement to provide anaesthesia as well as the main hospital site. The appointees will be offered a 10 PA fixed-term locum contract involving 6 (possibly 7) clinical theatre sessions (7.5 PA) per week. There will be provision of 1.5 PA per week for Supporting Professional Activity time. Within this contract the post holder, in addition to clinical duties, will be expected toparticipate in continuing professional development, may be asked to undertake teaching and training, be involved in and aware of the Clinical Governance issues of the Trust and participate in clinical audit.
