Macmillan Speech and Language Therapist (Community) Band 7 An exciting opportunity has arisen in our city wide Manchester Macmillan Palliative Support Service for a Macmillan Speech and Language Therapist based at our Longsight/Wythenshawe Macmillan Hubs. This post is to cover Maternity Leave 15 hours per week. The post holder will work as part of the Macmillan Specialist multi-disciplinary team comprising of Medics, Dietitian, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Nurses, another Speech and Language Therapist and Assistant Practitioners. The team aims to provide effective support palliative care and/or rehabilitation to patients with a life limiting condition requiring palliative intervention. The service operates 7 days per week 8:30 to 5. Allied Health Professionals currently don't cover the service on Weekends or Bank Holidays but may support the team to cover these shifts occasionally. The post holder will work across the city of Manchester and will provide supportive palliative care to enhance the quality of life for patients / carers with any life limiting illness requiring some curative interventions and palliative care, including complex physical, psychological and emotional needs.
