An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist who would be interested in expanding their palliative care skills on a Hospice Inpatient Unit. Working with IPU multi-disciplinary team, supporting the patients to develop their independence and autonomy with activities of daily living, involving the patient, carer, family and MDT in the treatment plan. This may involve providing education on symptom management or equipment use. This team works with the wider Hospice MDT to provide person-centered, holistic care and support for patients and their loved ones. About us 1.1 Work with the patient to develop their independence and autonomy with activities ofdaily living, involving the patient, carer, family and MDT in the treatment plan. This may involve providing education on symptom management or equipment use. 1.2 To provide adaptation/equipment as appropriate to aid daily living, and to provide instruction in their safe and proper use in the Hospice and at home where appropriate. Working as part of the IPU MDT (including sessional Physiotherapist), take a lead role in the planning for discharge from the Inpatient Unit, ensuring community follow through for patients with complex needs, particularly related to OT.
