The theatre department provides a 7 day 24 hour service, with the requirement to work weekends, nights and to support all theatre departments within ABUHB. Newly appointed candidates will undertake a comprehensive training programme supported by our designated theatre Practice Educator. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. Successfully complete a locally approved orientation programme. To take responsibility for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of a defined group of patients as appropriate. To liaise and communicate with members of the multidisciplinary team in the planning and delivery of patient care. To be aware of and demonstrate practice based on current advances in nursing. To participate in the formal monitoring of standards. To act as an advocate for patients and their significant others. Responsible for accurate records/standards for documentation, including IT, data collection and input. To manage patients with complex needs and act as a resource for junior staff with these patients. Responsible for the care of children and relatives when in the department.
