This role involves close working with the children's community and learning disability nursing teams and is a great opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, hard working Nurse Associate who is passionate about working with children with Moderate to Severe and profound Learning Disabilities and complex health needs ensuring inclusion and accessibility in school. The team provides a high quality service to children during the school day and supports their families. You will support individual children and families, attend multidisciplinary meetings, safeguarding meetings and liaise closely with other professionals so excellent communication skills are essential. This role is for 22 hours per week term time only (the paid hours equate to 20.25 hours per week) and is to be worked over 3 days. This service is term time only. This is a community based role so daily access to your own vehicle is essential. Ideally you will have experience of working with Children and young people with Moderate to Severe and profound Learning Disabilities, complex health needs and experience in a community setting. You will be expected to assess children in the school setting, plan and deliver care in conjunction with children, young people and their parents/carers. You will be responsible for keeping all clinical and safeguarding records up to date and in line with NMC guidelines and responsible for maintaining high standards of care and practice. The team undertakes teaching and competencies for education staff members and supports medical clinics within schools. You will contribute to the planning and delivery of these. As a member of this team you will be supported with regular clinical supervision, appraisal and relevant team meetings.
