The Wider Determinants of Health Unit of Public Health Wales is seeking an enthusiastic Public Health Consultant to work with us for two days a week until September 2026, to lead a programme of work supporting multi-sector action on wider determinants, including poverty to improve health. As the successful candidate, you will have a successful track record of working with multiple agencies and disciplines at a senior level to achieve public health goals. You will have a good knowledge of current policy and developments in Wales, including the application of the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015. You will have experience of facilitation of change and of collaboration across organisational boundaries. You will be able to demonstrate highly developed influencing, negotiation and motivation skills to drive action through partnerships. You will provide specialist input to the Building a Healthier Wales Coordination Group, which brings together senior leaders from across Wales to maximise the impact of collective efforts of agencies in Wales to improve health, well-being and equity. Provide public health strategic leadership, informing, advocating for, and mobilising collaborative action on determinants of health, through the Building a Healthier Wales partnership Develop effective relationships with members, Welsh Government colleagues, local public health teams, local government, and others in Public Health Wales, Contribute to Public Health Wales's long term strategy priority: influencing the wider determinants of health Have a high degree of political awareness, working to influence policy and practice locally and nationally.
