The post holder will be expected to participate in a range of clinical and non-clinical activities within the department, including the transfer of patients to and from wards and other areas of the hospital. They will act as chaperones and help to maintain an efficient, professional and patient centred service by contributing to administrative, housekeeping and other departmental duties as required. Following appropriate training they will be expected to: Record 12-lead electrocardiograms (ECG) on both in- and outpatients Fit and remove of ambulatory ECG, Blood Pressure and event recorders Analysis and production of reports for ambulatory blood pressure recordings The job is rotational between the Freeman Hospital and the Royal Victoria Infirmary, however the post holder will be required to operate on other sites from time to time. Please note it is a requirement of The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who require a DBS for the post they have been offered pay for their DBS certificate. The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first months pay. The Cardiology Department is looking for motivated, enthusiastic person to join its busy but friendly team of Clinical Support Workers. Good communication skills and a sympathetic and caring disposition are essential requirements for this role. Experience of working in the NHS or other public service would be advantageous.The post holder will be responsible for performing electrocardiograms (ECGs) on patients in a clinical setting. Other occasional duties include setting up patients for ambulatory monitoring and aiding Cardiac Physiologists in setting up patients for echocardiogram tests.
