This is a Senior Medical Secretary role, working in a complex, very busy department, alongside a team of Paediatric Consultants, nurse specialist team, and a small admin team. The post holder would be responsible for supervising the existing admin team daily, whilst co-ordinating and managing a busy outpatient setting. Expected Shortlisting Date: 15/11/2024 Planned Interview Date: 21/11/2024 The main duty of this role is to provide a comprehensive secretarial service to a team of Paediatric Consultants within our regional Cystic Fibrosis team. Whilst this role is based within Leeds General Infirmary, we are a regional centre covering Leeds, York, Scarborough, Bradford & Hull. This role involves a wide range of admin and secretarial duties which include outpatient clinic management, typing of clinical correspondence, dealing with patient phone calls, and passing on messages to relevant teams, attending and documenting MDT meetings, data submission and other admin related tasks. Supporting our clinical nurse specialist team is also a very important part of this role, we well as the day-to-day supervision of the admin team, escalating any issues to the PSC or Business Manger. Some of the secretarial tasks within this role, may involve conversations of a sensitive nature. About us The Paediatric Cystic Fibrosis team are based within their own outpatient setting within Leeds Children's Hospital and have many patients attending each week. This is therefore a very busy department covering paediatric respiratory clinics also. The team are a very friendly team consisting of Consultants, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Dietitians, social workers, youth workers and secretaries. This is a great place to work providing patients with a fun and friendly atmosphere when they attend their clinic appointments, or present acutely. "}
