HEIW has an ambitious Quality Improvement Skills Training (QIST) Programme which aims to equip healthcare professionals with the appropriate skills and knowledge to undertake Quality Improvement (QI) activities that will lead to improvements in patient safety, workforce wellbeing and environmental sustainability. This programme of work involves collaboration with NHS Executive Quality Safety and Improvement, Health Boards across NHS Wales, local faculty teams and specialty schools. HEIW's focus on improving QI capacity and capability in NHS Wales as part of postgraduate education and training across the healthcare workforce, has increased demand for delivery of QI training, project support and increasingly, advanced QI training experience. The post holder will lead the delivery of the HEIW QIST Programme across a range of specialties and professions and will be expected to lead the future development of the programme across the organisation. This will require development and review of policies and resources which inform the programme and appropriate compliance with postgraduate training standards. Lead the QIST Team in the delivery of the HEIW QI Educational Agenda for the organisation. Lead on the operational delivery of the QIST programme, working with the QIST Management Team and QIST Tutors to enable educational opportunities as part of postgraduate training in Wales. Support the implementation of the HEIW Quality Management Framework across the wider directorate and organisation. Support the development of Continuous Improvement and Innovation as an enabling function of the wider HEIW organisation.
