The ability to organise a workload, use initiative and work within a team is essential. You will be registered with the NMC and have a MINIMUM OF 6 MONTHS POST REGISTRATION, NHS EXPERIENCE WITHIN A GENERAL/ACUTE HOSPITAL SETTING OR THE EQUIVALENT IN A NURSING HOME . You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Reliability, confidence and commitment are also essential characteristics you will need to succeed in this role. Main Duties & Responsibilities Clinical 1. Practices in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and other appropriate guidelines. 2. Adhering to the Trust admission and discharge policies and be responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development of programmes of care and the implementation and evaluation of these to promote best practice for assigned patients. 3. Uses phlebotomy and cannulation skills on a daily basis if competent to do so. 4. Liaises with medical staff, allied departments and other members of the multi-disciplinary team on the condition of patients and their treatment. Is sensitive to the needs of patients, relatives & members of the multi-disciplinary team. 5. Observes confidentiality of patient information at all times and complies with the Data Protection Act (1984) ensuring that documentation is completed accurately and legibly. 6. Take an active role in establishing and maintaining effective communication with all disciplines, patients and relatives. 7. Supports and assists the Ward Manager in the establishment of a good working environment and in making the most effective and efficient use of staff, supplies and services.
