Our team are considered a specialist orthopaedic service because our caseload includes those who have undergone complex orthopaedic procedures you are unlikely to find in many other hospitals around the UK, these include: Meniscal Allograft Transplants, Osteochondral Allografts, multi ligament reconstructions and Day Case Joint Replacements. Our service encompasses patients from the young adult hip preservation service and the complex acute knee service, both of which take patients from all over the UK. This is mainly due to these services being led by some of the UK's most well renowned surgeons. Another part of our caseload is the Rugby Day Surgery Unit, however, we are not solely an elective service; we also manage and rehabilitate many orthopaedic trauma patients and are part of the UHCW major trauma pathway. Within this pathway we take on trauma patients who have further rehabilitative or complex discharge needs. Therapy cover is provided for the advanced practitioner led Rugby Urgent Treatment Centre. As a teaching hospital we take pride in our services' future by facilitating the development of many students from various professions. Within this role you will be offered specific in service training and clinical supervision in line with the HCPC CPD requirements. There are opportunities within the department for future professional development as our trust has a growing AHP faculty that gives support to staff and opportunities for development through the Centre for Care Excellence. Main duties: Work as an autonomous practitioner and member of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to team discussions and influencing decisions about patient care programs, taking on the role of care Co-Ordinator and/ or vocational lead where relevant Carry out treatment, using a broad variety of modalities and clinical reasoning to allow selection of the most appropriate technique evaluating, modifying and recording all interventions and outcomes & adapting them to meet the needs of the patient Use highly developed manual treatment skills requiring coordination, sensation & dexterity Produce and deliver an annual report specific to own clinical area & participate in the delivery of the Physiotherapy business play About us Establish and maintain effective communication networks with patients, carers, MDT, other workers and agencies across health, social care and the private sector locally and regionally Promote awareness of the role of Physiotherapy Network nationally across other Physiotherapy providers and educators for the development of best practice & improve service delivery for patients Be responsible for own personal development in order to establish and maintain competence and fitness to practice as a Specialist Physiotherapist in own specialist area.
