Experience in caring for patients diagnosed with renal and bladder cancer is desired but not essential.This post is a permanent full time position encompassing a demanding yet satisfying role, although part time hours would be considered.The CNS role involves supporting, educating and providing care to patients and their families during their journey with a focus on safety, advocacy, transparency and having the knowledge and ability to involve the wider members of the multidisciplinary team if necessary.We are looking for a highly motivated nurse who has the ability to excel and be dynamic in a busy and challenging environment.Applicants must be able to demonstrate attributes to include excellent communication skills, be able to function well as a team member, be able to professionally and compassionately manage client expectations and have the ability to prioritise and manage a patient caseload. To work with and support the renal and bladder cancer urology specialist nursing team, and wider multi- disciplinary team (MDT) in providing support and advice to a cohort of patients who have been referred for a variety of specialist uro-oncological interventions.To form constructive and professional relationships which are across trust sites and include Urologists, Oncologists, Radiologists, Outpatients and Ward staff.This post will be Trust wide and some across site travelling will be involved.To participate in a nurse- led approach to deliver patient focused care and play an active part in supporting the quality of care and the experience through clinical practice, nurse-led clinics, education, research, referrals and audit.To participate in the MDT to include preparing cases, offering professional opinion, promoting patient advocacy, updating patients on outcomes and ensuring a positive patient experience.
