Based at Neath Port Talbot Hospital and managing our community premises within Neath Locality. Duties will include the supervision of Hotel Services staff and service provision at the peripheral hospitals, units and health centres. Candidates must meet the essential criteria of this post. Knowledge of cleaning standards, Food Hygiene, Health and Safety together with basic computer skills are required for this position. Good communication and management skills are required to deal with supervisory issues. Ability to travel between sites in a timely manner is required in order to carry out supervisory duties in other Health Board locations. To supervise Domestic Services staff in their day to day duties, including allocation of work, rostering, authorisation of annual leave, work performance, behaviour, personal hygiene and welfare. To assist the Domestic Services Manager in the preparation of work schedules including the allocation of work. To complete Caretaker or Domestic Services Assistant duties within a premise as and when the occasion arises. Daily/weekly cleaning of all areas of allocated ward, clinical area or department. To cover his/her colleagues in a relief capacity during days off, annual leave or sickness. To participate in Workforce functions including recruitment, selection and induction, training (including 'on the job operational training'), disciplinary, grievance, sickness management and return to work interviews, annual PADR's etc. To participate, where appropriate, in staff counselling and disciplinary sessions. To participate in staff recruitment exercises as determined by the Domestic Services Manager. Deal with difficult people, situations and complaints in a sympathetic and professional manner initiating resolution where possible and if necessary escalate to Domestic Services Manager. To ensure compliance with all relevant Health and Safety legislation, and monitor the application of safe working practices. Any other duties as designated by the Domestic Services Manager "}
