Our practice is one of the biggest in Coventry with a list of 25,000 patients. Were based at Engleton House Surgery, in the Northwest of the city, with a branch surgery on campus at Coventry University. This gives us a mix of patient ages which increases the variety and range of our work. About us Great team of doctors, 6 partners, 11 salaried, nurses, and admin staff We believe in splitting work fairly among our doctors we all pull our weight regardless of whether salaried, partners or trainees We have a dedicated doctor every day to sign prescriptions and to supervise all trainees and PCN staff. We teach medical students and GP trainees, and have weekly clinical meetings Monthly Thursday morning clinical meetings for all doctors with time booked out of surgery We use EMIS Web Clinical System Our building is a purpose-built GP surgery so we have our own car park and bike store Part of CW Unity Primary Care Network Were easy to get to, even in peak travel times (25 minutes from Leamington, 30 minutes from Rugby and close to Coventry City Centre) We pay £11,000 a session plus pension, plus annual and study leave entitlement About us The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered patients. In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, triage calls, home visits, checking and signing of repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion. Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems. Assess the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness. In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, develop care plans for health Assist in the establishment of appropriate systems to manage common chronic medical conditions. Complete clinically related administrative and non clinical duties needed for the delivery of the service. Provide counselling and health education. Refer patients for further opinions and interventions appropriately Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards. Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions Prescribe in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary whenever this is clinically appropriate. In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care. Process and action incoming patient and hospital correspondence Attend in-house meetings, significant event audit meetings and others as deemed necessary Ensure that the practice complaints system is adhered to at all times Awareness and compliance with all relevant guidelines e.g. data protection, confidentiality and health and safety Maintain current CPR and anaphylaxis certification "}
