If successful you will be working alongside our 17 Consultants in Emergency Medicine and a strong team of Speciality Doctors and Speciality Trainees providing clinical services to the Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark, and surrounding areas in Nottinghamshire from two trust sites, King's Mill Hospital in Sutton-in-Ashfield, and Newark Hospital in Newark. You will be fully supported in your day to day working within a team where we have a full complement of substantive Registered Nurses, Health Care Assistants and Admin and Clerical staff. We also have a highly motivated team of Advanced Clinical Practitioners and Emergency Nurse Practitioners. We offer plenty of opportunities to become involved in teaching and audit and we have regular cohorts of medical students who require training for critical illness and musculoskeletal modules. We also run in-house ALS/ATLS/EPLS and Ultrasound courses that attract attendees from across the region. The over-riding purpose is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement. Whilst on duty a doctor has clinical and professional responsibility for their patients. It is also the duty of a doctor to: Keep patients (and/or their carers if appropriate) informed about their condition. Involve patients (and/or their carers if appropriate) in decision making about their treatment. Maintain professional standards and obligations as set out from time to time by the General Medical Council (GMC) and comply with GMC's guidance on 'Good Medical Practice' as amended or substituted from time to time. A doctor is responsible for carrying out any work related to and reasonably incidental to the duties set out in the Job Plan such as: The keeping of records and the provision of reports. The proper delegation of tasks. Maintaining skills and knowledge.
