We are seeking either an experienced practitioner who is looking for a new challenge or a Newly Qualified Nurse /Operating Department Practitioner looking to become part of a highly driven and valued professional team. Previous experience and knowledge is not necessary as we offer a comprehensive training package with mentorship tailored to your needs. The Cardiothoracic Theatre Suit comprises of three operating theatres which specialises in both Cardiac and Thoracic surgery. We perform cutting edge heart and lung cancer surgery including Minimally Invasive Heart Valve Surgery, Video Assisted and Robotic Lobectomies. The Cardiothoracic unit at The James Cook University Hospital is a specialised regional service serving a population of 1.5 million stretching from Whitehaven in Cumbria to North Yorkshire, Teesside and Durham. We are a centre for lung cancer and the focus of the Cancer Care Alliance of Teesside, South Durham and Yorkshire. We also provide an emergency service for patients requiring life saving interventions. Cardiothoracic Theatres operate Monday to Friday 07:15 - 19:00 only.
