The successful candidate will have a key role to play and will be responsible for Portfolio Delivery - specifically for ensuring alignment and delivery of the Transforming Through Data agenda and working closely with all key programmes including the Federated Data Platform, Event Based Architecture and Platform Modernisation and ultimately building a data service for the future.We are looking for an experienced professional to drive forward our vast and complex programme portfolio to deliver against our ambitions and support the NHS in unlocking the power or data. The post holder will lead and work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service, supporting managers and staff across the Data Services function to deliver the vision of a data enabled NHS. The role is suitable for those based in London, Leeds or other NHS Sites. The individual will provide a strategic steer to ensure programmes of work are aligned to the goals and ambitions of the NHS, have experience with value logic modelling and has an outcome and benefits approach to delivery of a portfolio.The successful candidate will have experience with creation of portfolio and programme business cases, government commercial and governance processes, Government Major Projects Portfolio (GMPP) and spending review processes and be able to lead and assure all data and analytical initiatives and provide guidance to ensure success.The successful candidate will also ensuring all local initiatives are aligned to the ambitions of the directorate. The post holder will have accountability and responsibility for the strategic and operational development of the portfolio. Plans to achieve the strategy will be underpinned by the delivery of short to medium term objectives. Key aspects of this role will be to: Ensure the strategy is retained across all portfolio programmes, understood by all stakeholders and is delivered utilising all available resources efficiently and effectively. Ensure the development and management of relevant strategic business cases and plans, within the Sector. Ensure appropriate system and processes are in place to enable the implementation of the portfolio. Proactively manage the key risks and issues associated with ensuring appropriate actions are taken to mitigate or respond. Monitoring and establishing accountability on the overall progress of the portfolio to ensure completion within agreed timescales. Manage the whole budgetary implications of activity. Avoid the destabilisation of business as usual. Manage and actively promote the relationships with key stakeholders. "}
