The successful candidates will be based at the University Hospital of Wales and Llandough Hospital. They will be expected to provide middle grade cover for clinical sessions and be on call for trauma along with the specialist trainees. Trauma services are provided at the University Hospital of Wales with a dedicated trauma theatre. The University Hospital of Wales is a busy trauma centre and provides tertiary referral service for spinal trauma, pelvic and acetabular trauma and complex limb trauma. The Elective service is based at Llandough Hospital and is one of the busiest orthopaedic centres in the UK with over 10,000 orthopaedic operations performed in the last financial year. This post is particularly suitable for Post FRCS (Orth) trainees interested in gaining focussed training in Trauma and Orthopaedics. Independent Operating sessions will be available along with supervised sessions with 16 Consultant Surgeons taking part in Trauma service.
