Act as a consultant psychiatrist, approved clinician and responsible clinician on Garner Ward. Hold overall approved clinician and responsible clinician responsibility for all 16 patients on the ward and share the Section 12 and responsible clinician work with the other approved clinicians and responsible clinician. There is no requirement to be a deprivation of liberty safeguard assessor. Reviewing patients, liaising with their families and other professionals involved. Give clinical supervision to the junior doctors. Attend ward meetings, including board rounds and Future Care Planning Meetings Help formulate the treatment plan and give guidance on evidence-based treatment. Maintain good relationships with ward team, fellow old age psychiatrists, multi-professional approved clinicians, and deprivation of liberty safeguard or Mental Health Act teams. Very occasionally it is necessary to provide expert advice, as directed by the courts, on Trust patients.
