The role of the Sister / Charge Nurse is pivotal in providing leadership and supporting our nursing team, ensuring the smooth running of a shift in a challenging and busy environment. The Children's Short Stay Unit (CSSU) is a 12 bedded unit co-located within Children's ED. Patients are admitted directly from the Children's Emergency Department (ED) 24/7 for up to 24 hours of stay. The unit cares for children and young persons up to their 18th birthday presenting with a variety of illness and also injury. We have a dedicated Children's ED/CSSU educator who will work alongside you and your team to support you in their development. We offer many training opportunities delivered in house and also university and national courses to support you in your on-going development. The education team also deliver weekly MDT simulations within the department and our education pod. The training we provide offers opportunities for further roles within the department .
