We are a multi-disciplinary team comprising of GPs, Nurse Practitioner, Practices Nurses, Clinical Pharmacist and Healthcare Assistants. We are a supportive practice, who work well within the team. To be fully proficient in BP monitoring, Phlebotomy, ECGs, vaccinations, cervical smears, wound care, including complex wounds, chronic disease management as well as other general treatment room duties, You would support the Healthcare Assistants to ensure the practice provides high quality care. You will oversee infection control standards along with cold chain compliancy About us MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.Taking cervical smears/high vaginal swabs 2.Wound dressings and suture removal 3.Drug administration, i.e. B12 injections, Depo-Provera 4.Holiday vaccinations and advice 5.Childhood immunisations 6.Ear Syringing 7.Venepuncture and the taking and preparing of pathology samples 8.Blood pressure recording 9.Demonstration of T.E.N.S Unit 10.Recording ECGs and Spirometry 11.Assisting with Minor Operations/I.U.C.D. fitting 12.New Patients Registration checks/NHS Health checks 13.Well person checks 14.Administration of Nebulised Salbutamol and/or other treatments 15.Dealing with minor injuries, i.e. superficial lacerations/head injuries 16.Provision of support and assistance with clinics, e.g. diabetic, hypertension, asthma, CHD, COPD 17.The maintenance of health promotion literature and information for patients. 18.Management of medical supplies stock, including stock control. 19.The inputting of information onto the Practice clinical system. 20.Use of Practice clinical system for patient searches for clinics and patient recall. 21.Ensure that infection control procedures are followed. 22.The ongoing cleaning and sterilisation of clinical equipment and working surfaces. 23.The maintenance of treatment room equipment, including testing and recording.
