The post holder will be part of a dynamic and innovative team of surgeons. Prospective candidates must be fellowship trained to deliver this service. The successful candidate should be fellowship trained and have completed CCST along with full GMC registration and a license to practice in the UK is required. Candidates must be eligible for their own GMC registration: an active license, ceased license or pending application with the GMC at the point of application. Candidates who do not fit this criteria will not progress through to the shortlisting stage. The successful candidate will, above all, be a productive and cohesive member of the Trauma team. o The successful candidate will be expected to organise their own workload o Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care. o Contributing to undergraduate, post-graduate and continuing medical and multi professional education activity including teaching as necessary. o Participation in clinical audit and research. o Conducting appropriate duties in cases of emergencies and unforeseen circumstances. o Multidisciplinary teamwork is envisaged as a key component of the working of this Trust and will involve Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) discussion with other colleagues. o Development of special interests that fit in with the Directorate needs and the strategic direction of the Trust. o Undertaking ward rounds as appropriate. o Providing evidence-based care for patients in a multidisciplinary setting.
