Children's Radiology at University Hospital Southampton (UHS) are delighted to be able to offer an exciting opportunity for a patient focused, enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team as a Radiology Department Assistant. You will be assisting Sonographers, Radiographers and Doctor's during imaging procedures including ultrasound, x-rays and fluoroscopy. You will be involved with preparing rooms and equipment, welcoming patients, and assisting during radiographic examinations. In Children's Radiology we image infants, children and young people up to the age of 16 years with a wide range of ability and individual needs. You will be providing care and support for our patients, their parents and carers. You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, helping to deliver a high quality and safe patient focused service, communicating effectively with patients. University Hospitals Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest teaching trusts across the country. It's one of the few major trauma centres for children in England. It provides a full range of specialities including paediatric cardiac, neurosurgery, oncology and orthopaedics for not just our local population but children across the south of England and the Channel Islands.Paediatric Intensive care (PICU) is a 16 bedded unit caring for children from 0-18 years old.
