The post holder will specialise in parenteral nutrition (PN) & intestinal rehabilitation and transplantation working with a world-leading MDT. This is a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave for the current post holder (November 2024-end March 2025). This post is the lead for the Dietetic management of paediatric patients on PN as well as patients within the Intestinal rehabilitation service at Denmark Hill. In addition the post holder provides out patient support to the paediatric liver and gastroenterology services. If you have a strong background in paediatric Dietetics, particularly in nutrition support, PN or gastroenterology then we would encourage you to apply. Additional training & support in the more specialist areas of Liver and Intestinal transplant can be provided as required by the paediatric Dietitian and MDT About us Main Responsibilities: Paediatric Parenteral Nutrition at the Denmark Hill site (0.5wte) Inpatient care for all paediatric patients on PN across a number of wards, including the PICU & PHDU. Outpatient care for Kings patients on home PN including a regular Intestinal Rehabilitation clinic; focusing on optimising enteral tolerance in long term PN patients as well as monitoring home PN. Support for patients and families after intestinal transplant Paediatric liver outpatient care during MDT clinics & day ward attendance, as well as supporting families and patients by telephone and email (0.3wte) A paediatric dietetic gastroenterology (telephone) clinic The supra regional paediatric liver, gastroenterology and nutrition unit at Kings College Hospital is the largest liver transplant centre in Europe and one of only three UK centres performing intestinal transplants. The paediatric Dietetic liver & gastroenterology team sits within the wider paediatric Dietetic team at Denmark Hill, which has 13 Dietitians covering a wide range of specialities. The dietetic department offers excellent training and development opportunities. We actively support the Kings-flex policy of accommodating flexible working hours.
