You will be working in a busy and demanding environment and therefore need to be highly organised with a sense of urgency. Knowledge of working with prescriptions would be an advantage. The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational and strong inter-personnel skills, while being flexible and committed. Hours of work should reflect general practice hours 37.5 hours per week within 8.30am to 6.30pm. Job-share and flexible hours will be considered Duties will include, but are not limited to: Will be required to work on reception desk on a rota basis dealing with medication requests and queries from patients. Manage the towns prescription lines Management of the Practice Medicines Managers task box Process patients repeat prescriptions accurately and in a timely manner. Work closely with our medicines team, GPs/ANP, patients and local community pharmacies Be the main point of contact for patient enquiries regarding their prescriptions Make calls to and receive calls from patients, pharmacies and healthcare professionals Identify where medication reviews and other aspects of patient care are due and help organise this work. Support the management of the medicines hub email system To undertake general routine safety audits to support the clinical pharmacist and GPs with the medication review process. Support the repeat prescribing for identified vulnerable patients and act as their point of contact for medication queries and request. Have excellent communication skills and speak to our patients in a caring manner, you will need to be able to work on your own and to prioritise your work. Answer the telephone promptly and politely to both patients and the clinical team on behalf of the pharmacy team To undertake administrative tasks resulting from the prescribing process To work in accordance with the practice prescribing policy at all times.
