To work within NNU as part of the multidisciplinary team, promoting the unit philosophy of family integrated care. o provide a high standard of nursing care under the supervision of qualified members of the team. to work with senior staff to assess patients, plan and implement care and maintain colleagues within the hospital, parents, carers and patients. Manage a group of babies under the supervision of a trained nurse, providing evidence based care. Work with supervision and as part of a team in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care to children in the hospital setting. Responsible for adherence to Trust policies and procedures. Contribute to the development of unit policies and procedures. Report any Safeguarding concerns to the senior nurse immediately Support mothers with breast, artificial and nasogastric tube feeding, in line with Trust Policies and BFI recommendations. Maintain accurate, contemporaneous records of patient care and liaison. Ensure good communication with patients, families and multi agencies to promote seamless care. Be computer literate with the ability to use hospital information systems, email, access the internet, word process etc. Ensure that health and safety policy is followed, notifying senior staff of any shortfall in standards. Take all steps to ensure personal, clients and visitors' health and safety are not put at risk. Manual handling of patients and equipment on a daily basis. Notify senior nurse of clinical incidents/concerns promptly.
